Share the everyday routine
Explain meals, rest, toilet breaks, familiar cues, exercise and what your dog enjoys. Include things to avoid and how your dog shows worry. Keep instructions concise and check that the sitter has understood them.
Agree the emergency plan
Discuss your veterinary practice, an emergency contact, transport and consent for urgent care. Give medication information directly, following the relevant professional’s instructions. Confirm insurance and backup arrangements.
Keep access information private

Confirm both ends of the booking
Write down arrival and collection times, updates, payment terms and what happens if you are delayed. Keep a copy of the agreement and the provider’s terms.
